Holmes humidifier filter is
an essential component of humidifiers. It screens and filters the elements
that penetrate the humidifier, so that, when humidity is increased, harmful
particles are not released into the air.
Humidifiers are designed to increase the level of humidity in an environment.
In most households, it is important to keep humidity levels below 60%
to discourage molds and dust mites. However, should humidity drops below
40%, discomfort may arise especially during the winter season.

Replacing A Holmes Filter
In replacing a Holmes humidifier filter, always remember to unplug the
device. Begin by removing the water tank and emptying it. Fill it up with
cold water and one tablespoon of bleach for disinfection. Let the bleach
soaked for twenty minutes. Remove the motor housing and clean the humidifier
of any dust. Lift off the filter from the unit and replace it with a new
Holmes humidifier filter.
Holmes wick filters require replacement every two months on average. Wick
filters are coated with special antimicrobial coating to slow down the
growth of mold on the filter. There are also permanent filters that need
cleaning, instead of replacement for its maintenance. Evaporative cool
moisture humidifiers require this type of filter.
